Recently it seems that more and more viruses and other malicious code are
available to hackers, hijackers, spammers, and other black hats. They are
non-discriminating, destroying your hard work. Staying on top of antivirus and
operating system updates can be quite aggravating. Doing so religiously can take
hours of worker productivity time per computer per month to combat. Computer &
Telephone Consultants, Inc. is now offering a way for it to be done for you.
vHouseCall© (virtual House Call) is the name of our service. We enter your
network at night or anytime that is convenient for you, via the internet to
deliver the updates required to maintain your network. We also carry out routine
maintenance such as; scan for ad-ware and scan the registry for unused
information to increase the performance of your computers. If you have an
Exchange server we install and maintain this too. If you use Microsoft Office,
updates are promptly installed as well. As a matter of fact, we check for
updates on all software and hardware installed on your systems. What this
delivery system gives you is peace of mind knowing that your systems are safe
and that no time during your productive hours are used.
Another service that we offer to our customers is a security checkup of all
systems. We cannot secure all ways that this unwanted software is installed on
your system, so we teach you and your staff how to follow “Safe Computing”
guidelines.
There are other benefits to this service. You can use it as well when you are
out of the office and you need to access your computer. If you need to see what
other people are doing you can view their screen with or without them aware of
your activity. If you need to show another person how to complete a task you can
show them by controlling their computer from yours, walking them though the
task. For a complete list of uses contact us for an appointment to demonstrate.
Once the service is installed we can remote diagnose and repair most all
problems without having to drive to your office, thus improving our response
time to your problem. In the past, hours have been saved by accessing our
clients in this fashion. One example is a client that is more than a one hour
drive from our office had a major problem. They had deleted a file in their
accounting software. The only way to retrieve the file was to restore from a
tape. No one had ever restored before. They called us up and within thirty
minutes the file was back and everyone was working.
System Requirements We can access Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP, Macintosh OSX,
and most Unix/Linux based computers. We recommend that your computers have a
broadband connection to the internet. Broadband includes DSL, xDSL, cableTV, T-1
and T-3 connections. If you are still using an ISDN connection we need to talk.
